Please read my research paper on Wikipedia. Then respond within this prost your own feelings about my response to wikipedia and question you may have that my paper was unable to answer.
Some question to ask your something before reading my OWN opinion and some research about Wikipedia are:
1) What is your own opinion on Wikipedia?
2) Do you use Wikipedia as a research source?
3) Why do you think proffessors dislike students using wikipedia?
4) How do you feel the created Jimmy Wales views his creation as a speicific research resource?
Try to make the question easy to read to where I will be able to respond to your question with a clear answer. 90% of my research is based off my own opinion that Wikipedia is a great source to use as a base research site so please keep question about research items that I can answer back to you by using other sources.

I think Wikipedia is convenient but really just there for a fast reference at best...I think the "we are the world" mentality has few check and balances within the Wiki realm. It is hugely opinon stuff. So I think professionals want to see time proven info or integrity in the base of a piece. I guess the creator is pleased because of the popularity of this.
ReplyDeleteDo you think it would be easy to scan in (digitize) the new encyclopedias for subject matter...and have a research team conducting work on things that have just come to be (as a direct result of the age of information) and add pages on each thing that way. I think it would be more trusted.

i will agree it would be more trusted, but Wiki is not suprose to be use a text support only to get a base understanding. Just by completing this assignments provens to me that wiki is only for base knowledge. NEVER TO BE USED as a place of reference becuase wiki was not made to become a place of reference but only to hold knowledge.
